What a game we have here as the Utah Jazz and New Orleans Hornets battle it out in a classic. Point guards Chris Paul and Deron Williams are dueling as Paul tries to bring his team back into it. At current the Jazz have dominanted most facets of the game with their bench adding a big push once Paul left the floor.
Here are the stats at the half from the two best point guards in the league:
Chris Paul: 15 points on 6 shots, 4 assists (0 turnovers), 1 rebound, 4 steals
Deron Williams: 14 points on 9 shots, 8 assists (4 turnovers), 2 rebounds, 0 steals
It appears that both individually are playing well but that Williams is getting better production out of his team-mates, that’s the difference in the score.
Here are some of my thoughts on the first half:
- The Hornets bench has been awful, Willie Green once again showing that he brings little value when he’s being his usual selfish player.
- The Jazz are straight up balling, they’re executing on offense and hitting a lot of their clean looks.
- D.J. Mbenga is playing his best game of the season, Jazz better shut him down, dude is lights out!
- Hornets have to tighten up their defense and get production out of Belinelli and Ariza, they’re killing us.
Utah Jazz: Shooting 57% from the field, 55% from 3, 20 rebounds, 14 assists
New Orleans: Shooting 47% from the field, 22% from 3, 13 rebounds, 5 assists
