I thought I would add my tidbit into this whole thing because this was the worst game of Chris Paul‘s career. Mark it down, it will not happen again. Tonight’s game was down right disgraceful. Not because it was a surprising loss, but because these types of games have happened on numerous occasions. These Hornets have no consistencies about them. Sure peg it on the injuries, make excuses. The fact remains that there is still Chris Paul and David West on this team and it was a game against one of the worst teams in the league, injuries will not fly here.
As stated before Chris Paul played a horrendous game. He scored a measly 9 points in 50 minutes of play, had 7 turnovers and looked disinterested in trying to takeover the game. If it weren’t for a slight spurt in the 3rd quarter Chris Paul would have been the worst player on the entire roster.
Some brush this off as happenstance and just a small bump. I see it as a much larger problem. It has seemed for a long while now that Chris Paul isn’t the force that he once was. Okay he plays extremely efficient basketball, but he has not once dominated a game from start to finish this season. Not against the Cavaliers, not anybody. Each game he seems to fade in and out. I don’t know what the answer is, but you can bet your bottom dollar it lies with Chris Paul and his mentality.
Other than that, solid nights from David West, Marco Belinelli (!), Willie Green and Aaron Gray. Check out Jake’s recap too.
