Quickly, A Question…

The big news coming out of the NBA the last few days is that the league eliminated 114 jobs (11% of its workforce). Matt Moore, of the CBS Eye on Basketball Blog, was ANGRY in what is my favorite article related to the lockout. Really, when you think about it, all the NBA has to do is just cut costs here and there–like most families in America and the world are doing right now.

But it got me thinking. There was some outrage over the message the Hornets sent to fans when they sold their second round draft pick for around $750,000.00. As Joe Gerrity, from Hornets247, pointed out, according to Dell Demps that money will be reinvested into the team. But, that still didn’t really satisfy fans.

So my question to all of you: What would your reaction have been if the Hornets said they were using that money to make sure the team didn’t have to fire anyone? As a follow up: What if the Hornets said they were eliminating Buzz Fest, the season ticket holder beer garden, and many of the ingame promotions, so that the team wouldn’t have to let anyone go? Keep in mind, this isn’t so an owner (Welcome to the show, Donald Sterling!!!) can line his pockets with the money. How would you feel then? Let us know in the comments below.

It’s Saturday, let’s all get silly tonight…
