It was announced yesterday that the Hornets now have a new (or renewed, which ever way you choose to look at it) corporate sponsor in Entergy.
This is the latest news in corporate sponsorship for the NBA ball-club, a positive sign of developing a partneship with the business and corporate community in and around Louisiana.
“Building strong corporate support for the Hornets in New Orleans is fundamental to our mission to keep the team in this great city, and to ultimately find local ownership to ensure the long-term stability of this franchise,” said Hornets President Hugh Weber in a statement. “We’re grateful to have partners like Entergy and our other Crescent City Champions to establish the foundation required to make this happen.”
Entergy has been a partner of the New Orleans Hornets since they arrived in the city. The “Three-Point-Power-Play” is synonymous with their sponsorship. With this renewed partnership, Entergy will provide “the Hornets “green” initiative that focuses on wetlands conservation, renewable energy and community beautification.”
Rod West, a representative and Chief Admistrative Officer of Entergy said, “We recognize the importance of the Hornets to our region and have valued our partnership with them from the beginning. We are particularly pleased to connect with the team through their grassroots interactive community program, Planet Rebound. The Hornets shine a tremendous spotlight on the city of New Orleans, and we’re excited to partner with them and focus that spotlight on these extremely worthwhile causes.”
This is yet another step in the right direction for the Hornets organisation to lay the platform for a local owner. Having multiple corporate partners is a necessary item for an NBA organisation to expand their reach to the community and generate income.
The Hornets have four major Crescent City Champions; Cox Communications, 7-Up, Oschner Health and now Entergy.
