To no surprise to most of us here the New Orleans Hornets have their latest corporate sponsor, Chevron. After Entergy became the fourth Crescent City Champion, Chevron has become the fifth.
This is big news for the franchise in the middle of their “I’m In” Campaign to reach 10,000 Season Ticket Holders. Any little piece of positive Public Relations this organisation can receive will further inhibit a growth in new ticket holders. It also goes to show that there are corporations out there willing to involve themselves with the New Orleans community through the Hornets. Being a Crescent City Champion seems to have its advantages for all parties involved.
The Hornets seem very pleased with their latest addition.
Tom Ward, Senior VP of Corporate Partnerships of the Hornets, said, “We are thrilled to add Chevron to our strong base of Crescent City Champions. Chevron has been a great partner of the Hornets, and we appreciate that they have stepped up to support us and to demonstrate that they are, indeed, ‘in’.” “Their recent commitment to the Crescent City Champion level is a substantial step in keeping the Hornets in the Crescent City and their investment in the MVP and Mathletes community programs will play an instrumental role in fueling the education of our children who are the future of this city.
All in all though there’s still plenty of work to be done. The Hornets have to continue with their push to get more STH’s because at their current rate they’ll get there by early November.
