The Hyatt in New Orleans could be another Corporate Sponsor for the New Orleans Hornets

The Next Corporate Sponsor for the New Orleans Hornets?

This is a question for you guys and I really would love to know who you think will be the next Crescent City Champion for the New Orleans Hornets. A few days ago the Hornets announced their fifth corporate sponsor, Chevron, who upped their support for the franchise. They joined the likes of Entergy, Cox Communications, 7-Up and Ochner Health System.

42 over on Hornets247 had a great article that suggested a few but here’s his summation:

So, to actually answer the questions: I think AT&T would be the most like of the above to jump in, Verizon would provide the best integration with local resources, and the Shaw Group would be the biggest coup.

Suggestions included AT&T, Verizon, The SHAW Group, PoolCorp and PanAmerican Life. Interestingly enough New Orleans actually has more than one Fortune 500 company, the SHAW group so getting them involved would be something special.

One of my suggestions would be to look Hyatt to up their sponsorship level. I know they’re already involved and have a partnership with the Hornets and perhaps they already did up their investment, no one outside really knows.

I think the discussion of corporations getting more involved is fantastic in the true sense of the word. It shows that New Orleans can indeed support an NBA team despite what the ignoramuses of the world say. This needs to be sustained, we need to see this right up until the lockout is ended. I know that Hugh Weber has been doing a fantastic job so if you see him let him know that you appreciate his hard work.

All of this will be worth it when we get a new Local Ownership group in place.
