No One Cares About Star Players and Their Pickup Games

Carmelo Anthony and other superstars are trying to give fans their "fix." I guess they don't realise that nobody really pays attention.

You know the games I’m referring to, those pickup games televised on the internet via some streaming website. These pickup games are a joke and give us insight into the ideal NBA world which the players would like. I’m not talking about BRI or anything remotely related to economic conditions for players, I’m talking the way the game is played.

No defense, just dunks.

A nice little promotional line for any sponsors looking to promote such an event. Every player on each side, namely the stars, looks to get their ideal statistics in a regular NBA game. When Chris Paul and Lebron James are both putting up triple doubles in the same game you know something is wrong.

I have nothing against the players actually playing these games, what I don’t get is why there’s so much interest being pushed out there.

ESPN is covering it like their lives depended on it, several NBA writiers, both national and local hang on every piece of information to come out of these.

My view is that I don’t get why people care.

I guess I’m a fool for the good ole idea of a “competitive and fiery contest,” but that could be just me.

All I know is I don’t pay one amount of attention to anything related to these events.
