Look For Gustavo Ayon To Make All-Rookie Team

With the 11-12 season over, it is about that team for the NBA to pick the All-Rookie teams. There is a first team, second team, and third team. I expect Hornets rookie center Gustavo Ayon to make either the 2nd team, or 3rd team.

The All-Rookie first team will most likely look like this:

G- Kyrie Irving, Cavaliers

G- Ricky Rubio, T-Wolves

F- Kenneth Farried, Nuggets

F- Chandler Parsons, Rockets

C- Tristan Thompson, Cavaliers

Gustavo Ayon is not a lock to make the 2nd or 3rd team, but I like his chances. The only other rookie centers that have a chance at making one of these teams are Nikola Vucevic(76ers) and Jeremy Tyler(Warriors). Ayon had the most consistent season out of those 3. Ayon played in 54 games, started in 24, averaged 5.9 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game. Warriors rookie center Jeremy Tyler finished strong with good play but his season averages still were not better than Ayon’s. Tyler averaged 4.9 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game.

So look for a future post about Ayon being named to one of the All-Rookie teams and me saying I told you so.
