Monty Williams Places 12th In Coach Of The Year Voting

Hornets Head Coach Monty Williams finished 12th in the coach of the year award voting. Even though the Hornets finished with the 3rd worst record in the NBA at 21-45 he pulled in 1 second place vote that gave him 3 total points placing him in 12th overall.

San Antonio Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich finished in 1st in the voting with 467 total points. Chicago Bulls Coach Tom Thibodeau finished in 2nd with 315 total points.

I think Tom Tibodeau deserved to win this award though. The Bulls and the Spurs both finished with league best record of 50-16, but the Bulls were without their superstar player Derrick Rose for almost half the season. Popovich and the Spurs had a great season but I think the Bulls success was more impressive as they were hit hard with injuries this season. Although you could argue that the Western Conference consist of better teams than the Eastern Conference.
