Hornets Chance At #1: NBA Draft Lottery Odds

The biggest day of the Hornets off-season is tomorrow. The NBA lottery. Depending on how this goes will determine the rest of the off-season and the future. The Hornets have two lottery picks to be hopeful for. Their first pick gives them an 13.7% chance at the #1 pick, an their next pick gives them a 1.1% chance. It would be amazing to see the Hornets land two top three picks but the odds are not in our favor for that to happen. Lets take a look at how the first round of the draft is looking like with each teams lottery odds:

Even if the Hornets do not land the #1 pick there is still hope. More times than none the best players in the draft do not get pick #1 overall. Prime example, in 2007 Greg Oden went #1 and Kevin Durant went #2. In 2001 the Spurs did not draft tony parker until the very end of the first round. So there is hope for New Orleans, even without the first pick. Lets just hope Dell Demps makes the right pick.
