Davis’ Family Was Hoping For Charlotte

According to csnchicago.com:

Anthony Davis called in to the Dan Patrick show today for an interview. Davis told Patrick that his family was not to excited about New Orleans winning the #1 pick. They were actually hoping that the Charlotte Bobcats won the rights to pick Anthony.

Anthony Davis is a Chicago native and grew up rooting for Michael Jordan. It seemed like a dream come true for him and his family to have a chance to play for the great MJ.

“A lot of disappointment inside my family,” said Anthony. “My mom wanted me to go to to Charlotte. I have a lot of good friends in Charlotte. At the same time, it wasn’t my call. A lot of guys are disappointed but they have to move on and make the best out of New Orleans.”

Davis also called out Kobe Bryant when asked what player he was most excited to play against. He said he wants to be the guy that was able to say he shut Kobe Bryant down. Not to many people can say they have accomplished that.
