FanSided NBA Mock Draft Pick No. 10 Trade Alert

As GM of the Hornets for this FanSided NBA Mock Draft I have decided to explore trade options for the 10th overall pick. The only player that made sense to pick that early for the Hornets was Damian Lillard, every other player had the potential of sliding down in the first round. Plus with all the talent in this years draft and the Hornets needing to fill more than one need, this move makes a ton of sense.

I first tried to offer the No. 10 and 46th picks to the Rockets for the 14th and 16th overall picks, It was declined. The only other team left with two first round picks in this years draft was the Boston Celtics. The Boston Celtics own the 21st and 22nd overall picks and I made an offer for them. My remaining 2 picks in the draft for the Celtics 2 first rounders. This may seem drastic from going from 10 to 21, but look at it this way, the Hornets now give up 11 potential players to draft 2 players. We are currently at pick #17 in the draft and these players are still on the board;

  • Meyers Leonard
  • Terrence Jones
  • Royce White
  • Moe Harkless
  • Jared Sullinger
  • Tony Wroten Jr.
  • Marquis Teague
  • Fab Melo
  • Quincy Miller

By time we get to the 21st pick I predict Meyers Leonard, Terrence Jones, Jared Sullinger & Moe Harkless or Royce White all to be selected by then. That still give me and the Hornets a possibility to fill the point guard and small forward needs. I really like the idea of Tony Wroten playing with Anthony Davis, a 6’6 pg who probably has the best court vision in this draft. He will find Davis and make it easy for him to score. Pairing Davis with his former Kentucky pg Marquis Teague does not sound like a bad idea either, I mean they did win a national championship together. With the departure of Trevor Ariza the Hornets also need a starting small forward, Moe Harkless or Royce White will still be on the board.

Who would you take with the 21st and 22nd picks as the Hornets GM?
