The Hornets made their first splash in this years free agency as they acquired 3-point specialist Ryan Anderson from the Magic via a sign-and-trade. Anderson agreed to be traded to the Hornets for a 4 year contract worth $36 million.
This was a really good move for the Hornets, especially since all they gave up was reserve big man Gustavo Ayon. Ayon may turn out to be a great role player in the future but Anderson brings productivity now.
With Anthony Davis and free agency not over yet it’s tough to predict wether Anderson will start or not. Anderson nor Davis seem physically gifted/talented enough to play center in the NBA. So as of right now it seems that the Hornets have a position battle at the Power Forward spot between the #1 pick and newly acquired Ryan Anderson.
