The Los Angeles Clippers are trying to add more depth to their Guard positions and are reportedly interested in Hornets guard Marco Bellinelli. Bellinelli is a unrestricted free agent and the Hornets probably did not plan on retaining him, especially after draft Austin Rivers. However the Clippers seem to be interested but a trade exception is their only way if acquiring him, so they would need to do a sign-and-trade.
The Clippers and Hornets have been discussing a few possible trade scenarios and so far it seems the best offer from the Clips has been Ryan Gnomes and a draft pick, not sure what round or year the pick would be of. Ryan Gnomes only has 1 year left on his contract and it wouldn’t hurt to add another small forward behind Al-Farouq Aminu and rookie Darius Miller. Any draft picks from LA would sweeten the deal, specifically since the Hornets were going to let Bellinelli walk anyways.
