Phoenix Suns Officially Sign Eric Gordon To Offer Sheet, Whats Next?

New Orleans is now on the clock. According to The Sun Herald Eric Gordon has officially signed an offer sheet from the Phoenix Suns. The offer is a max deal and worth $58 million over 4 years.

The Hornets now exactly 3 days to match the offer in order to retain the rights to Gordon. The Hornets have publicly stated in the past few weeks that they are ready and will match any offer made to Gordon. Although, Gordon recently said that his heart was to play in Phoenix and there has been no word from the Hornets camp since then.

I am expecting the Hornets to match the offer made by Phoenix, although I would be dissapointed but not surprised if they decided to let Gordon walk. Stranger things have happened.

It now becomes a waiting game and it is the Hornets move. If I was Hornets GM Dell Demps, I would wait until the final day to match the offer made by Phoenix just to tie their cap space up and possibly hinder the rest of their free agency attempts.
