Rivers Sits Out As Hornets Get First Summer League Win

The New Orleans Hornets are now 1-3 in summer league play as the easily took care of the Phoenix Suns last night. Neither of the Hornets two first round pick played in this game either. Of course Anthony Davis did not play as he is currently traveling around Europe with the USA Olympic team, and #10 overall pick Austin Rivers sat out due to “leg soreness.”

The Hornets were led by Brian Roberts and Lance Thomas last night as they defeated the Suns  78-61. Roberts, a 26 year old point guard led all scorers with 16 points and is averaging 13 ppg in the Hornets 3 summer league games. Forward Lance Thomas has been playing exceptionally well so far, last night he added 14 points and 8 rebound to bring his summer league average to 16 ppg and 7 rpg.

On the other end, Phoenix Suns first round pick Kendal Marshall, played 30 minutes and finished with 5 assist, 3 points and was 1-10 from the field.
