Hornets Finish Summer League 1-4 With Loss to Warriors

The Hornets lost their final Las Vegas Summer League game to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. The final score was 80-72. Austin Rivers sat also sat out this game due to his “lower leg injury”, he missed 3 games total as he only played in 2.

The Hornets had somewhat of a disappointing summer league as they finished with just 1 win and 4 losses. Although unlike every other team, the Hornets were without their top draft pick. Anthony Davis has been traveling the world with the USA Olympic team. Austin Rivers was also somewhat of  a disappointment as he did not produce like many hoped he would. He averaged 10 points and 3.5 assist but only played in 2 games. 3rd year guard Xavier Henry finally had a good game yesterday and led all scorers with 21 points against the Warriors.

Unlike the Hornets, the Golden State Warriors finished 5-0 this summer and were led by 2nd year guard Charles Jenkins and rookie Harrison Barnes against the Hornets. Jenkins had 15 and Barnes had 13 points.

This Summer League team should not reflect the Hornets regular season team as they were without a few players in Las Vegas.
