Olympic Exhibition: USA vs. Spain Recap & Highlights

The USA Men’s National Team took on Spain yesterday in a well anticipated match. Many though Spain had the advantage over team USA with their depth in the front court, featuring the Gasol brothers and Serge Ibaka. Spain also had a few other NBA players in Rudy Fernandez, Jose Calderon, and Juan Carlos Navarro. Unfortunately for Spain, they were without the bigger Marc Gasol and ended being out rebounded by 11. “Who said team USA was too small.”

Carmelo Anthony & LeBron James led team USA to a 22 point victory. The final score was 100-78. Anthony led all scorers with 27 points while LeBron posted 25 points & 7 assist. Pau Gasol was the leading scorer for Spain as he dropped 19 in the loss.

Anthony Davis also got some action in this game. It wasn’ t much, he played a total of 4 minutes and managed to grab 1 rebound and block 1 shot. Davis played the least out of all team USA members in their 5 exhibition games, yet he lead the team in blocked shots per game.
