Hurricane Issac Has Hornets Players Working Out In San Antonio

According to John Reid and The Times-Picuayne, San Antonio is where the Hornets will be having their voluntary workouts this week. The Alario Center, where the Hornets practice and play at is being used by the National Gaurd to pass out food stamps as a result of Hurricane Issac.

“Because the National Guard is using the Alario Center as a (food stamp card) distribution center we want to respect the process,’’ Demps said. “What they’re doing is far more important than basketball.’’

Anthony Davis, Austin Rivers, and Ryan Anderson are among the Hornets players who traveled to San Antonio to workout. These are just volunteer workouts to prepare players for training camps which starts on October 2nd. Players are mainly playing pickup games amongst each other with some private workouts.

The Hornets should be back in New Orleans at the Alario Center sometime next week before training camp starts to prepare for the first pre-season game on October 9th.
