Anthony Davis & Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Set To Square Off In Pre-Season Game #2

The New Orleans Hornets(1-0) are preparing to take on the Charlotte Bobcats(1-0) tomorrow and it will be a pretty interesting matchup. Both teams are very young and had the top 2 picks in this years draft. The Bobcats finished the 2011-2012 season with the worst record in the NBA and were hoping to get the #1 pick in the draft, but unfortunately for them the Hornets snuck in and won the lottery. This will be the first opportunity for the Bobcats to get a first hand experience on what they missed out on in Anthony Davis.

This will be the first time rookies Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will play against each other in the NBA after winning a NCAA national championship together.

In their first pre-season game the Bobcats defeated the Washington Wizards on Sunday 100-88. The Bobcats pretty much played their whole team and were led by Byron Mullens(18 points, 8 rebounds) and Gerald Henderson(19 points, 4 rebounds). Ben Gordon pitched in 16 points off the bench. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist played 26 minutes and started in his NBA debut, he scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.

The Bobcats already look better than what they were last season, but this is just the pre-season. If the Hornets get off to a slow start like they did against the Magic the Bobcats could give them a run for their money.

This game will not be televised but it starts at 8:00pm ET on Tuesday October 9th.
