Austin Rivers Will Miss Final Preseason Games

Austin Rivers sprained his ankle is Mondays loss against the Mavericks. It was a injury that many were worried to be a serious one but after a MRI on Tuesday it seems to just be a sprain with no structural damage. Before the MRI Rivers claimed that the sprain was not that serious and he will be fine;

“It’s actually not that bad,’’ Rivers said after Tuesday’s practice. “This is not really swollen. But it’s not too bad just based on how I feel right now. I can be back very quickly. I’m not really worried about it.’’

Rivers injured this same ankle in the summer league which caused him have surgery. Hopefully Rivers will not be consistently bothered by this ankle.

In Rivers absence, Roger Mason Jr will see a lot more time on the court in these last two preseason games. With Gordon and Rivers out Anthony Davis will see more time and the small forward position and Darius Miller and Al-Farouq Aminu will have to see some time at shooting guard.
