New Orleans Hornets Score Fewest Points In Franchise History In Loss To Philadelphia 76ers

76ers 77, Hornets 62

The Hornets offense was pretty much shut down against the 76ers Wednesday night. The Hornets did not score over 20 points in any quarter on their way to a Franchise low of 62 total points in a game. The Hornets were only able to make 23 field goals and 20 of those came in the point, either layups or dunks. The previous Hornets franchise low for most points in a game was 65.

The Hornets beat themselves more than anything, with 24 turnovers the Hornets turned the ball over than they made shots. That led to Philadelphia getting 15 more shot attempts and 26 points off turnovers.

The Hornets were winning at halftime 37-36 before the Sixers went on a 10-0 run to being the 3rd quarter. After that the Sixers never looked back, wining the 3rd quarter by a 21-10 margin.

Al-Farouq Aminu was the only Hornet that managed to score double digit points and he only finished with 10. Although Aminu did grab a career high 16 rebounds in the loss.

The Hornets were without Anthony Davis, Eric Gordon, and Austin Rivers and were looking for other players to step up. No one stepped up for the Hornets Wednesday night, but players such as Robin Lopez and Grevis Vasquez had their worst game of the season. Lopez finished with 6 points and 4 rebounds in 32 minutes. While Vasquez had a tough matchup in Jrue Holiday finished with 7 points and 7 assist on 3 of 13 shooting from the floor.

Holiday was a force on the floor Wednesday night and led the Sixers to victory with 14 points, 12 assist, and 5 rebounds.
