Austin Rivers Scores Career High 27 Points In 113-102 Loss To Minnesota Timberwolves

The New Orleans Hornets took on the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday night. The Hornets were going into the game trying to snap a 5 game losing streak but came out with their 6th. Though the Hornets loss this was a high scoring game, for them. The Hornets have been averaging around 86 points per game in their previous 5 losses.

The Hornets seemed to be playing good basketball and got a lot of production out of their players, the Timberwolves just played better. Surprisingly it was not Kevin Love who killed the Hornets Firday night, it was Nikola Pekovic. Pekovic led all scorers and scored a career high 31 points for the T-Wolves. Andrei Kirilenko notched a double-double scoring 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Kevin Love’s shot was off shooting 4-18 from the field but still managed to score 14 points and grab 9 rebounds.

It was a career night for not 1 New Orleans Hornets, but 2. Austin Rivers scored a career high 27 points against the T-Wolves. Rivers was stroking it from 3, knocking down 5-6 from behind the line. This marked this game is Rivers career that he scored 20 points or more.

It was also a big night for Hornets point guard Grevis Vasquez. Vasquez scored 15 points and dished out a career high 17 assist!

Anthony Davis came off the bench once again and scored 11 points on 4-5 shooting and grabbed 7 rebounds. Ryan Anderson continued to start in Davis place and scored 20 points and also grabbed 7 rebounds.

The Hornets will next try to end their losing streak against the Portland Trailblazers on Sunday December 16th.
