The Los Angeles Lakers have been said to be shopping around Pau Gasol as of late. Gasol just is not seeming to fit in Mike D’Antoni’s system and is not producing like he once was. Gasol is 32 years old and is declining, fast. With that being said Gasol is still a good big man and can still put up numbers, just not like he use to. Gasol has played in 17 games this season and is averaging 12.5 points and 8.8 rebounds.
The Lakers have been rumored of sending out trades for Gasol all across the league, but a top priority for them would be to acquire Hornets forward Ryan Anderson.
I agree with the Lakers, trading for Ryan Anderson would be great, for the Lakers. Too bad for them though, Ryan Anderson is pretty much un-touchable, especially when the offer on the table is Pau Gasol. Anderson is almost 10 years younger than Gasol and is currently the Hornets leading scorer. Anderson is also leading the NBA in 3-pointers made. I give the Lakers credit for trying though, acquiring Ryan Anderson and reuniting him with Dwight Howard would be ideal. It would open the paint of more for Dwight and Anderson would get a ton of open 3′s as he did in Orlando.
But Ryan Anderson is now a New Orleans Hornets and I expect that to stay that way for a while, unless the Hornets can get LeBron James or something, but we all know that isn’t going to happen.
