Pierre Jackson To Play in France

Point guard Pierre Jackson, the Pelicans’ 2nd round pick, has not yet signed a contract with the team and is expected to join a team in France, according to NOLA.com.  Jackson was pursued by several European teams, but elected to play for ASVEL Villeurbanne.

Jackson likely wishes to gain the consistent playing time not available in the Pelicans back court, where he would likely begin the season behind Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans, Brian Roberts, and Austin Rivers.

Jackson, a 5’10” point guard out of Baylor University, was acquired in a draft night trade with the Philadelphia 76ers, and had to wait for the trade to be officially completed before playing in Summer League.
