Monty Williams Travels to Africa

Last week, New Orleans Pelicans’ head coach Monty Williams traveled to South Africa, taking part in the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders Program.  Williams worked in South Africa for a week two years ago, conducting youth basketball camps and aiding in the construction of houses.

Since its creation, the Basketball Without Borders program has staged 33 camps in 17 countries.  Williams is not new to charitable activity, having hosted dinners for the Salvation Army and worked with the NBA Cares program.
