On Saturday night the New Orleans Pelicans came storming out of the gates to a 33-15 first quarter lead and that was enough to earn their first victory of the season against the Charlotte Bobcats, 105-84. Once again the Pelicans were led by Anthony Davis who had one of the best games of the NBA season so far putting up 25 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 6 steals, and 6 blocks. A nice surprise for the Pelicans was newcomer Tyreke Evans having his best game as a Pelican coming off of the bench to add 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assist . The Pelicans had a good shooting performance shooting almost 50% from the field and 57% from deep, as they shot 34% from the field at Orlando last night. The Pelicans played their best defensive game of the year holding the Bobcats to 37% from the field and setting a new franchise record with 18 blocked shots on the night. The Pelicans only allowed 2 Bobcats to score in double figures, Ramon Sessions came off the bench to lead the Bobcats with 22 points and 6 assists and Kimba Walker added 14 points. The Pelicans move to 2-1 on the season and host the Phoenix Suns Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m.
