Pelicans Lose 2nd Straight

After losing their home opener down the stretch to the Indiana Pacers, the New Orleans Pelicans couldn’t find the rhythm in their first road game of the season. The Pelicans visited the 0-1 Orlando Magic Friday night and were outplayed from the second quarter on to lose by 20, 110-90. The Magic played harder and played with a sense of urgency with every possession from the beginning of the game. The Pelicans one bright spot on the night was Anthony Davis who poured in 26 points, 17 rebounds and 3 blocks, as the rest of the team failed to find the basket consistently. Jrue Holiday added 17 points, while Anthony Morrow was the only contributor off of the bench with 14 points and went 4-4 from beyond the arc. The Magic held the Pelicans to 34.8 percent shooting from the field, while the Pelicans aloud their second straight 30 point scorer as Arron Afflalo added 30 points, 4 assist and 4 rebounds. The Pelicans new acquisition Tyreke Evans has had a tough first two games as he went 0-7 with 3 assists on the night. Monty Williams stated the team has some players who aren’t playing so well right now and need to find their rhythm and flow within the offense. The Pelicans return home Saturday evening to host the Charlotte Bobcats who are coming off of a win Friday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Pelicans are now 0-2 on the young season.
