The Pelicans first west coast trip of the year did not go as planned as they dropped their third consecutive game on the road to the win less Utah Jazz, 111-105. After the game Jazz start Gordon Hayward commented, “It’s about time!” The Jazz were 0-8 going into the contest allowing 101 points per game while only putting up 89 points per game. The Pelicans have reached their first low point of the season as they continue to have defensive woes by allowing 109 points against them in the three consecutive road losses. As the Pelicans continue to search for defensive answers,  Anthony Davis continued his torrid stretch by leading the Pelicans with 29 points and 15 rebounds, while Tyreke Evans added a season-high 19 points and Jrue Holiday added 19 points and 6 assist. The Pelicans were leading 61-45 at halftime and were in control for most of the game  then let them off the hook by being outscored in the second half by 18 points. The Pelicans return home to host the 5-4 Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. The Pelicans are now 3-6.
