Fansided Editors Choose: Heat or Spurs?

Yesterday afternoon the Fansided NBA editors started an email chain to gather all our NBA Finals picks in one place. Bill Simpson over at Air Alamo put together a cool table with all the picks and a summary of why they were made, that table is below along with some full quotes as to why certain people leaned one way.

“The Tony Parker injury scares me to a degree. Being real, I just don’t believe that any man made human being can stop LeBron James from a three-peat.”-Drew Corrigan, The Sixer Sense

The Heat were lucky beyond words to win last year’s Game 6, and that kind of lightning can’t strike twice. The Spurs are the best TEAM. Miami has some individuals.”- Brian Boake, Raptors Rapture

“Every keeps talking about how this Heat team isn’t as good as last season. Disagree. Sure, they may not be as deep but a healthy Dwyane Wade will compensate for that. #FreeBeasley.”-Michael Saenz, Sir Charles in Charge

“While the Heat have the best player in the world, the Spurs are the better team. Also, can’t see them losing two straight finals after being 4-0 in the Duncan era.” -Rami Michail, The Smoking Cuban

LeBron just carved up All-Defensive First Team member Paul George, along with Lance Stephenson (who was one of the top runners-up for the All-D teams). He’ll feast on the Spurs’ wings. Also, Tony Parker isn’t likely to hold up again, which cost them last year. Also, vintage D-Wade has been showing up lately. That guy makes the Heat almost unbeatable.” -Adam Best, Fansided CEO

I’m worried about the health of Tony Parker and the longevity of Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili. When those three aren’t rolling, the Spurs’ role players have limited skill sets and often can’t carry the team — at least not over a team like the Heat. The Heat, meanwhile, have had a fairly brisk playoffs. Dwyane Wade is improving every series, Chris Bosh has snapped out of his funk (seemingly), and LeBron James is… LeBron James.”- Scott Davis, Buckets on Broadway

As with the Pelican Debrief Roundtable feel free to leave your picks in the comments below, we will revisit things once the series is over.
