Daily Debriefings for June 9, 2014:The NBA is Wonderful

Going into the this years NBA Finals there was a doubt that it could live up to the enormous expectations that last seasons classic gave us. Well through two games (minus the fourth quarter when cramps caused LeBron to sit) they absolutely have. Last night was the perfect encapsulation of why we all love the NBA so much. There were big shots, big stops, great passes, impossible finishes, Rashard Lewis hitting big threes in 2014. It was terrific. Hopefully things continue this way in Miami. Now on to the links:

LeBron: So far in the series the Heat have been really good with LeBron James on the floor and not so good when he sits. He again crushed everything in Game 2 and Yahoo!’s Adrian Wojnarowski killed it with a column on him.

For the NBA now, LeBron James is the result. He’s the most loved. He’s the most hated. In these Finals, he was brought to his knees and he rose again. His championship, his sport, his time. LeBron James is carrying everyone. He’s carrying everything. It is something to see.

Like A Bosh: Chris Bosh made the two biggest non-LeBron plays of Game 2 and yet there will be some people who downplay his place in the NBA. SI’s Chris Mannix reminded people that Bosh is as big a part of the Heat as anyone.

The Love Drama: The Kevin Love sweepstakes is swinging into full gear now. Every team in the NBA should want Love but the Suns look like the best fit.

How Do You Stop a Supernova? Sir Charles in Charge looked at how the Spurs defended LeBron’s third quarter explosion last night.

That is a lot of Money: John Calipari supposedly turned down $60 million from the Cavs to jump from Kentucky to the NBA.
