Daily Debriefings for Wednesday June 11, 2014: The Spurs Lit Everything on Fire

Well that was unexpected. After two incredible NBA Finals games to start the series things got weird last night as the Spurs shot 90 percent from the field in the first quarter and built a 25 point first half lead. The Heat eventually whittled it down but they never quite felt like they were going to win. The Spurs stole back home court which means if Miami is going to win the series they need to find a way to win in San Antonio. This series is a ton of fun. Anyway, on to the links:

Spurs Start: Just how insane was that first quarter for the Spurs? Here is a recap of it.

The Next Great Spur: Kawhi Leonard was terrific last night for San Antonio. Adrian Wojnarowski takes a look at how Kawhi may keep the Spurs dynasty alive.

The Triangle Offense: This was probably my favorite thing that I read yesterday. Ben Swanson is a gem.

Miles Away: Darius Miles was one of the more fun players of my childhood. His horns celebration still is one of my favorite ever. This profile of him by Slam was great.

The Lance Dance: Lance Stephenson is going to be one of the more intriguing free agents this summer. I linked to this yesterday in the news post that the Pelicans were interested in Lance but here is Zach Lowe on why. And here is Fansided’s 8points9seconds on Lance.

Pelicans Stuff: Here is Hoopshabit on the Pelicans best and worst lineups from this past season.
