Happy Fourth of July to all our great readers. Yesterday brought with it another day of free agency with a few smaller (and confusing) agreements and seemed calm until LeBron James news hit late last night that could potentially change the complexion of the league. Today will be a quick edition of the links due to the holiday but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot to read.
LeBron James Could Leave Miami: While LeBron is away on vacation his agent has been meeting with a group of teams to determine where he may fit best if he doesn’t return to Miami. According to Adrian Wojnarowski this isn’t a smokescreen either:
Unless Pat Riley lines up talent appealing to James within cap structure soon, one LBJ suitor says: “LeBron seems ready to explore market.”

The Rockets Plan B is Bosh: The Houston Rockets look like they may be ready to pounce on the uncertainty in Miami and attempt to add Chris Bosh as their next big piece if Carmelo Anthony doesn’t come to Houston.
Chris Kaman? Rip City Project tries to get to the bottom of the curious Chris Kamen signing by the Portland Trailblazers.
he Trail Blazers certainly won’t be signing him for his defense, so he had better deliver on the offensive end. I’m sure he was pitched the idea of being the first option at center off the bench and I do not doubt that he will be. Kaman still boasts a strong-ish post game. Regardless, this is a peculiar move for a team that was so gung-ho about ‘win-now mode’ just weeks ago. The specifics of Kaman’s contract point toward future cap scrutiny and not necessarily current on-court needs.
Darren Collison? The Sacramento Kings signed Darren Collison to start over the better Isaiah Thomas because the Kings are weird.
Living a Dream: This reaction from a guy making the Warriors summer league team will make your day.
