Daily Debriefings: The LeBron James Watch Got Weird

Yesterday wasn’t the finest day for Basketball Twitter. While waiting for news on LeBron James there was plane tracking and reading cupcake shop started rumors and just in general being crazy. Meanwhile a few contracts were actually agreed to yesterday but as it has been recently it was just middle of the road players. Everything still remains in a holding pattern right now while LeBron, Chris Bosh and Carmelo Anthony try and decide where to go.

LeBron James Watch: A few important things happened with the LeBron James free agency yesterday. First Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are losing faith in LeBron returning to Miami next year.  Then LeBron supposedly set up a meeting with Pat Riley for this week. There is a real chance that LeBron returning to the Heat is determined in that meeting with Riley.

The LeBron James Stuff Keeps Evolving: Woj couldn’t wait. Just a few minutes ago he unleashed this important information. Rich Paul, LeBron’s agent, is giving the Cavs hope at landing LeBron.

Bi-Annual Explanation: Fansided’s new business blog the Mid-Level Exceptional breaks down exactly what the Bi-Annual Exception is.

Chris Bosh is the Game Changer: Why Chris Bosh is the most important part of free agency.

Wade represents something of an unknown, because it has always been assumed that Bosh would do whatever was necessary to make the numbers work. That’s strange in that Bosh is far more important on the court these days. Big men who can do what he can do and who don’t complain about doing it are the rarest and most valuable players in the sport after superstars like LeBron and Kevin Durant. If he wanted, Bosh could upset the entire rhythm of free agency by making a decision ahead of the other available stars.
