There isn’t a better sports game out there right now than the NBA 2K series. Constantly rewarded for their presentation, game play, and visualization, it’s hard to argue there’s a better sports game right now. Whether they be basketball or video game fans, the series has a strong following leading to excitement and discussion with every trailer release.
Today, fans got just that. A trailer for the next installment in the series, NBA 2K15. What immediately catches the viewers eyes are how good the game looks. It’s only been a year since the release of new consoles but the 2K team appears to have already figured out how to make their product sparkle. Kevin Durant’s sweat has never looked so good before.
As usual, the presentation is fantastic. That’s what sets 2K apart from other sports games out there. They have the experience of making every game look like a Thursday night game on national TV, locked down to a science.
While the visuals and presentation were great, it’s a bummer that we didn’t get more game play footage. Most likely that is still getting tweaked and worked on, but I wanted a little more than the dunks and crossover dribbles we saw in the trailer.
Pelicans fans will be happy to hear that Anthony Davis is all over this trailer. He’s battling down low with Tyson Chandler, grabbing rebounds, throwing down dunks, and playing defense. Davis made more appearances in the trailer than Derrick Rose and Kobe Bryant. The only two that were highlighted more than him were Kevin Durant and LeBron James. This is a sign that Davis is becoming more noticed. Hey, maybe he’ll be on 2K16’s cover.
