The New Orleans Pelicans entered Friday night’s game with the Minnesota Timberwolves with a chance to win back-to-back games for the first time in a while. After a slow start that saw them fall behind by 10 points the Pelicans fought back to claim a nice 92-84 win on the road.
Other observations:
- The Pelicans won and he made a fair amount of the shots but it isn’t a good sign to me when Dante Cunningham takes nine jumpers in one game. It may be time to get Quincy Pondexter into the starting lineup as at least a few of those jumpers will be threes.
- If Ryan Anderson doesn’t play on Sunday it could be a long game. There just isn’t any three-point shooting on the team that is playable besides Gordon and Pondexter and team’s will take that away. With Jimmer not in the rotation teams can clog the lane and make life for Evans and Davis hard. We will see how long Anderson is out.
- The win marked the Pelicans first back-to-back wins since December 16 and 18th against the Jazz and Blazers. Somehow in that time New Orleans remained ninth in the West. I guess that is a good sign? The team still trails the Suns by 3 1/2 games. It won’t be easy to catch them but I guess it is possible.
