New Orleans Pelicans dominate Los Angeles Lakers, win 113-92

The New Orleans Pelicans dominated the Los Angeles Lakers in a game that was decided early in the third quarter, and possibly as early as the second. It’s not often a team like the Pelicans dominate on the road, and this season in particular they’ve struggled to wake up for games against weaker competition. However, tonight New Orleans came out, took care of business, and won the game handily. Ignore the final score as the Lakers made it look closer than it was at the end.

New Orleans started off the game slow, and the Lakers actually led at the end of the first quarter. The Pelicans defense was being exploited, and the Lakers were getting to the rim with relative ease. They’ve constantly had a problem all season of Omer Asik making the correct rotation, and nobody would come help the helper, resulting in an open bucket. The Lakers managed to exploit that early on, but that’s about all they were able to do. From the second quarter on, New Orleans led by double digits. They mainly did so by out scoring LA, but their defense did step up enough to the point where the Pelicans were able to run away with it. All in all, a solid performance and a good win.

A+. Another great game for <strong><a href=. SG/SF. New Orleans Pelicans. QUINCY PONDEXTER

Anthony Davis dominated which shocks nobody. 20 points on 15 attempts, seven rebounds, SIX asists, and four blocks. So not only can Davis block shots, grab rebounds, and score in bunches, but now he can dish out the ball like nobody’s business? Be afraid NBA. Be very afraid. Well that is if he survives long enough to make people afraid. The game was a blowout tonight and he played 35 minutes. Das bad Monty.. PF/C. New Orleans Pelicans. ANTHONY DAVIS. A+

A-. <strong><a href=. C. New Orleans Pelicans. OMER ASIK

Continuing the trend of big men dominating, <strong><a href=. C. New Orleans Pelicans. ALEXIS AJINCA. A

B-. Ryan Anderson is back! He played his first game with the team in quite awhile tonight and clearly there was some rust as he shot 5-for-11. However, he scored 17 points and showed no fear or hesitation to take his shot and that’s a great sign. Lets hope some good things start going his way soon.. SF/PF. New Orleans Pelicans. RYAN ANDERSON

New Orleans Pelicans. DANTE CUNNINGHAM. A-. See, now this is a role <strong><a href=. SF/PF

NORRIS COLE. A. <strong><a href=. PG. New Orleans Pelicans

PG/SG. New Orleans Pelicans. JIMMER FREDETTE. A+. Jimmer actually played tonight and the INC rule be damned he gets an A+ for that.

New Orleans Pelicans. JEFF WITHEY. INC. Would have liked to see Withey get some more minutes in a blowout, but beggars can’t be choosers.. C

New Orleans Pelicans. LUKE BABBITT. INC. Three minutes tonight. How often is Babbit in the rotation now that Anderson is here and will obviously need minutes?. SF
