It wasn’t easy at all but the New Orleans Pelicans found a way to make it into the 2015 NBA playoffs despite all the challenges. There were injuries to Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans and Anthony Davis. The mid-season acquisitions of Quincy Pondexter, Norris Cole and Dante Cunningham and the need to incorporate them into an ever-changing rotation. There was the fact that Monty Williams was reportedly coaching for his job. Finally there was the need to beat the defending NBA champions in a game that mean something to them on the final night of the regular season to just make it into the playoffs.

Somehow the sixth youngest team in the NBA did it all. As a reward the Pelicans now get to take on the NBA’s best team, the Golden State Warriors in the one vs. eight seed match-up and try to do what no one has been able to this season and slow down the likely MVP in Stephen Curry. It won’t be easy but as we have seen all year that doesn’t matter to the Pelicans. They will be there, ready to scrap and fight their way through the game and series until the magical season finally runs out of steam.
