Now that the New Orleans Pelicans 2014-2015 season is over it is time to look back at each member of the roster and see how their season went. To do so we will be taking a look at both ends of the floor and assigning a grade before coming together for an overall grade that takes into account the entirety of the season. Today we start with Omer Asik, the most fought about players on the roster.

C. By the numbers this was one of the better offensive seasons in Omer Asik’s career. He finished with the most offensive win shares in any single season of his career, the second highest offensive rebounding rate of his career and, well yeah that is about it. As great as Asik was on defense his offense bordered somewhere between passable and a train wreck.  No player in the NBA 6’10” or taller had their <a href=. . OMER ASIK . A+. This one was easy. While <strong><a href=. Defense

B. Omer Asik was brought in first and foremost to play defense and he did that job well. Between his rebounding and rim protection the Pelicans found a center that fit nicely next to Anthony Davis. But the limitations can’t be overlooked. Asik couldn’t help the Pelicans finish with a top 20 defense (certainly not all his fault but it maters), struggled on offense and wasn’t trusted to play 30 minutes a night often. That all adds up to knock Asik down to a B for the year.. Overall. . OMER ASIK
