Coming up with clever ways to say the New Orleans Pelicans lost another game by falling apart in the second half is becoming increasingly difficult. The Pelicans are playing decent basketball in the first half consistently and absolutely atrocious basketball in the second half of almost every game. Tonight was the same song and dance, and, to top it all off, Davis left the game in the first quarter with a shoulder injury. The perfect storm of terrible keeps gaining strength.
Other Thoughts:
- The Pelicans are not a good basketball team right, plain and simple. At this point, it isn’t clear that even a healthy Tyreke Evans could improve the team enough to actually win games.
- If Anthony Davis is out for an extended period of time, fans better buckle up, because it’s going to be a rough stretch.
- The Pelicans’ offense is relying on a streaky guy who takes questionable shots (Anderson) and a guy who fades in nearly every game (Gordon). It should come as no surprise that the team collapses at the end of almost every game.
- The defense may be beyond repair, honestly.
