Starting from 5 I am going to countdown and go through the worst players ever to wear a Hornets uniform. When I say ever I really mean ever. Players in this statistical field range from the 1946-1947 season up to now, 2012-2013. The only requirement is that the player has played 1000 minutes in a season. Players will be ranked based off of their Player Efficiency Rating (PER), a measure of per-minute production. The league average PER is 15.

Courtney Alexander

He played in 66 games for the Hornets that year seeing 1360 total minutes. He averaged 7.9 points per game for the Hornets but finished the year with a 9.3 PER. Alexander was in his 4th season in the NBA, it was also his last.

Wednesday night will mark the first time in his NBA career that Austin Rivers will go against he father Doc. I am sure Austin has been waiting for this moment, to get the opportunity to beat his Dad. As for Doc, he actually is not looking forward to facing his son’s team. According to ESPN here is what Doc had to say,

I’m actually not [looking forward to it],” said Rivers. “I mean, I don’t even know what I’m looking forward to. You know, it’s not like he’s playing a ton anyway, but, you never know. But, as far as him and being out on the floor, that’s just a different feeling. I still don’t know how to feel about it.

Austin is in a major slump right now and is not seeing the court too much these days after the return of Eric Gordon. In the Hornets past five games Austin has only scored 1 point. Despite Rivers low production levels, he may be called to see more minutes Wednesday in Boston. It is not clear yet if Eric Gordon will play or how many minutes he will play in his first back-back games. The Hornets played the 76ers Tuesday night. In the even Gordon does sit out Rivers will be the main beneficiary and will get his chance to show up his Dad’s coaching.

Doc Rivers has assembled maybe the best back-court defending tandem in Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley and they surely will give Austin Rivers and any other Hornets guard problems. Don’t expect any Celtic players to take it easy on Austin, they have made it more than clear that he will get treated like anybody else.
