]]> Despite disappointing games from Anthony Davis, Eric Gordon, and Ryan Anderson, the Hornets still managed to pull off the 79-88 win against the Houston Rockets Wednesday night. More importantly, the Hornets have now won their 3rd straight game.

Wednesday nights game against the Rockets was not a very good offensive game for either team. The Hornets top 3 scoring leaders, Anthony Davis, Eric Gordon, and Ryan Anderson all finished with 6 or fewer points, 0 for Anderson. It was a good thing Roger Mason Jr and Jason Smith both stepped up off the bench and scored 17 points each for the Hornets. Grevis Vasquez also scored 17 points and dished out 11 assist, but this is nothing new as Vasquez has easily been the Hornets most consistent player this season.

Besides James Harden, the Houston Rockets simply had problems scoring. Kudos to the Hornets for the great defense, James Harden was the only Rocket to score more than 9 points. Harden finished with a game high 25.

The Rockets led for the majority of the game and went into the 4th with a 69-59 lead. THe Hornets were lights out and locked up in the 4th, scoring 29 points to the Rockets 10. Roger Mason scored 15 of his 17 in the 4th and James Harden was held to just 3 points in the 4th.

]]> The New Orleans Hornets went into Houston Wednesday night to take on the Rockets and came out with a loss. The Rockets held off the Hornets behind James Harden’s 30 points, 10-20 form the field. Harden’s 3rd 30 point game and Omer Asik’s 12 rebounds were enough to give the Rockets the 100-96 victory over the Hornets.

Despite the Hornets loss, Grevis Vasquez had one of his best games of his NBA career. Vasquez posted a career 24 points, 9 assist, and 5 rebounds. Ryan Anderson also played well off the bench, despite shooting 2-10 from the 3-point line. Anderson finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Anthony Davis was not as effective as he has been in Wednesdays game. Davis played 29 minutes and only finished with 8 points and 4 rebounds. It just was not his game on the offensive end, Davis shot 2-7 from the field. Davis did record 3 blocked shots in the effort though.

Austin Rivers also posted a new career high in points against the Rockets on Wednesday. Rivers finally found some shooting touch and hit first NBA 3-points of his career. Rivers finished with 10 points on 3-8 shooting.

Besides James Harden, Omer Asik and Chandler Parsons played well from the Rockets. Asik finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds while Parson recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds. Parson also hit a 3-pointer near the end of the 4th quarter to put the game on ice.

THe Hornets will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder next, on November 16th.
