Matt Carroll is a 32 year old, 10-year veteran out of Norte Dame. Carroll has been a role player getting limited minutes his whole career, starting in 84 games out of 459. Carroll’s best season came in 2006-2007 when he started in 47 games and averaged 12 points. Carroll has averaged 6.5 points throughout his career while shooting .384% from the 3-point line.Carroll has only appeared in one game for the Bobcats this season playing 6 minutes

Hakim Warrick was just acquired by the Hornets this off-season and did not get too much of chance to prove himself on the court. Warrick has only appeared in 3 games, playing a total of 31 minutes averaging 4.7 points and 3 rebounds.

“Hakim has been the ultimate professional while in New Orleans, even while receiving limited minutes, and we wish him the best in his new opportunity”

After James Harden turned down many lucrative contract extension offers from the Oklahoma City Thunder, Thunder management decided it was best to trade Harden. As a result Harden was traded to the Houston Rockets saturday night.

July 16, 2012; Washington, DC, USA; United States forward James Harden (12) stands on the court prior to team USA

The details of the trade have been released and the Rockets have sent Kevin Martin, rookie Jeremy Lamb, 2013 first round picks from the Mavericks & Raptors, and a 2013 2nd round pick from the Charlotte Bobcats. In addition to James Harden the Rockets will be receiving Cole Aldrich, Lazar Hayward, and Daequan Cook.

This trade comes as a big surprise as Harden and the Thunder were both expressing that they were expecting a contract extension to be reached soon. This also make me wonder why Harden turned down the Thunder’s final offer of 4 -years $52 million when the max offer was $60 million. Wouldn’t you be willing to sacrifice $6 million out of $52 for a chance to win MULTIPLE championships?

If you did not already know the Rockets are in the Southwest division with the New Orleans Hornets and these two teams are usually fighting each other for a playoff spot when both are in contention.
