The New Orleans Pelicans lost to the New York Knicks Monday night in a game which featured the Pelicans down stars Jrue Holiday and Anthony Davis. Unfortunately for the Pelicans, they were unable to create quality looks, or convert on any other looks for a majority of the first half. A theme of timid at best defense continued as well, as the Pelicans allowed the Knicks to score 99 points.
Other Observations:
- If another team has lost to both the Sixers and the Knicks, let me know as I need to revise my fact checking. That being said, wow. This was such a bad loss.
- The Pelicans defense is their most glaring issue. They allowed the Knicks offense, which still has yet to seem to know or understand how to run the triangle schem, to score 99 points. I can only imagine what the Mavericks would do with their ever improving offense against a team like the Pelicans.
- The Pelicans are missing Anthony Davis more and more as each game passes. Without him, it’s a borderline miracle they can even contend at the end of games, let alone win them.
