It wasn’t easy but for the first time in the 2014-2015 NBA season the New Orleans Pelicans have won three games in a row, thanks in large part to
Anthony Davisand
Tyreke Evans.
In a back-and-forth affair that saw the Pelicans blow a 10 point second half lead Anthony Davis made some spectacular plays and clutch free throws late to help push the Pelicans to a 109-106 win over Monta Ellis and the Dallas Mavericks. It was a game that could be one we look back on for New Orleans as a potential season changer or at the very least a game in which the team grew up.
Other observations:
- Monty Williams drew up some great action late in the game. The play that Evans scored on to give New Orleans a one point lead with under 30 seconds left was perfect. The initial read was for an AD lob but with that taken away Evans had a ton of room to work and made a tough shot. Then the Pelicans got AD open to the point Dallas held him and sent him to the line. Just great work from Monty.
- I said it on Twitter during the game but Tyreke Evans has a (fair) reputation in transition now for running guys over. That means he won’t get any 50/50 calls like tonight against Monta Ellis. It is no one’s fault but Reke’s who again could have just passed to the teammate running with him tonight for an easy basket.
- That was fun.
Tweets of the night:
Tonight was incredible and so the game deserves multiple tweets. Here we go.
First, this game in right before Anthony Davis came away with the clutch steal.
@PelicanDebrief Can't Holiday come back for one play? Just One!?

Then we have Anthony Davis reactions:

That was a blast. Be sure to come back tomorrow night when the Pelicans take on the Philadelphia 76ers.
