New Orleans Pelicans destroyed by Memphis Grizzlies 110-74
That wasn’t ideal. A night after posting their best win of the season the New Orleans Pelicans were absolutely annihilated by the Memphis Grizzlies. New Orleans was in the game in the first quarter thanks to an early barrage of three-point shooting. Then everything fell apart.

Monty Williams went with a five reserve lineup to start the second quarter and by the time the starters got back in the game the Grizzlies had an 11 point lead and complete control of the game. New Orleans got close a few times but Memphis always found an answer whether it was on the offensive glass or behind the arc. It was just a butt whopping, plain and simple.
Other observations:
- That was bad and there really isn’t much to take from it. The rule is when you trail by 40 in a game everyone automatically gets an F.
- Luckily it probably doesn’t mean anything for the coming games besides making them more important. The Pelicans now have to match the Thunder to make the playoffs.
- This game can be forgotten easily once the next game tips and that happens Friday when the Pelicans host the Phoenix Suns.
