Does Jimmer Fredette play in the NBA next season?

Rick: I guess? Look, the Jimmer faithful have honed in on a ton of different statistical points every game and I give them props. His game just isn’t going to get him anywhere past a late bench player in the NBA. Is he an NBA player? Sure. But his lack of size on defense along with poor awareness on D along with his limited capabilities on offense are things that aren’t improving any time soon. That is a tough player to integrate in an NBA rotation. Let me put it like this…hes a NBA player in the same way darts is a sport….Sorta.

Chris: Yes, he hasn’t played well or managed to find any minutes on a team yet, but it’s hard for me to just say a shooter is going to be out of the NBA so early in his career. I think he survives on his reputation as a shooter for another year, but if he doesn’t find a place to hang on to soon then his career is going to be in serious doubt.

  • Joe: I think Jimmer will probably make the back-end of an NBA roster next season. I pray that it is not in New Orleans, but I just feel like some GM or owner will take a flyer on him hoping to sell a few more tickets. Apparently he has one NBA skill, shooting, and even though we have seen zero signs of it this season having one above average skill can keep you around for a while. I pray that his time here is finished because he can’t guard anybody.

Charles: Jimmier will make it on team but I don’t think so right away, he will be one of those mid-season signings for a team that’s suffers injuries and needs guard depth. He literally brought nothing to the table for the Pelicans this season and that really hurts him going forward. There are plenty of better options than Freddete so I don’t see a scenario in which he starts the season on a NBA team.

Matt: I don’t see it. I know his fans don’t think Jimmer has even gotten a fair shot but at the end of the day he has now been a part of three different organizations in need of guard depth and not been able to play. Sure he has flashes here and there of being a decent player but ignoring all of the practice sessions, film sessions and behind the scenes things that we just don’t see and claiming racism, abuse and the litany of other things that I have seen to try to “explain” why Jimmer isn’t playing is ridiculous. How about the fact that teams just don’t think he is good enough? For the sake of his fans I hope Jimmer gets a shot with someone like the Knicks or 76ers next year and gets to play heavy minutes. In that case I have no faith in his proving he belongs which should send him to Europe where he would be a star and make a ton of money.
