Are you worried that Tyreke Evans posted the lowest free throw percentage of his career this season?

Rick: Considering a lot of that had to do with a lot of fatigue he accumulated over the course of the season from a great deal of injuries to key players, I don’t see it being a massive issue. There were a ton of guys that couldn’t play and a good portion of the time, ‘Reke was the guy who had to take the brunt of the responsibilities on himself to fill their role on offense. He had a lot of offensive weight on his shoulders. The free-throws should be better with the gained energy he’ll have next season.

Charles:  I think it is a cause for alarm. I’m worried because I feel like Tyreke is a player who can be accustomed to repeating bad habits. His form looked off on his free throws all season and while some of that can be attributed to injury. It appeared he was pushing the ball rather than shooting it. Still, it has only been one bad year from the stripe so I don’t think it is something we should really worry about unless this is a trend that continues at the start of next season.

Matt: A bit especially because it came with the lowest free throw rate of his career too. When guys struggle from the line to the point Reke did this year (around 7 percent off his typical mark) it gets in players heads. While some of the issues may have been fatigue due to his added responsibilities it could have been a reason that Evans stopped getting to the line as much as he has. All it takes is a bit of avoiding contact to see that rate drop and when a guy is worried about making or missing free throws that can happen.
