Now that the New Orleans Pelicans schedule for the 2015-2016 season has been released the fun part comes. Considering how important the schedule turns out to be in the long run that is the NBA season, taking a look at all the little quirks and moments in a schedule before the season starts is a fun task, especially in August.

Over the next few days Pelican Debrief will have a look at a bunch of different parts of the Pelicans season from home stands and road trips to games that look like potential Anthony Davis shows.

That said, not all games are created equal. In an 82 game season, some are bound to be more interesting and carry more weight for the team. While it may be fun to watch the New Orleans Pelicans beat the hapless 76ers by twenty every night (who doesn’t want to watch Davis dunk on Okafor? How about blocking his shot into the bleachers?), competitive games, and games with deeper impact in particular, are the reason we love the game.

With that in mind it felt right to look into the interesting games on the Pelicans schedule. These aren’t necessarily the games that are going to be the most imporant for the Pelicans this season, though all of them are more important than those Sixers contests.

Instead they are games with some type of interesting story line surrounding them, be it the date, location or opponent the Pelicans are playing. It starts with a match-up that could be on these types of lists for years to come.
