Matt (@Matt_Cianfrone): David Wesley
This was one of the more tough positions to pick on my All-Time team and ultimately I went back to the start of basketball in New Orleans to fill it. David Wesley was never the big name that someone like even Tyreke Evans is today but that doesn’t mean that he wasn’t a great player during his time with the franchise.

The year that really sold me on including Wesley on my roster was the 2002-2003 season, his first in New Orleans, when he averaged an incredible 37.1 minutes per game and still found a way to be highly productive. In that time Wesley averaged 14.2 points per game with a 49.8 effective field goal percentage which seems incredible considering the minutes.
The next year Wesley shot 42.4 percent from three on over four attempts per game showing that he could be a versatile player depending on what the team needed. Add in the willingness to play defense on both point and shooting guards and the energy that he played with and Wesley was a very important piece to the team’s puzzle.
With a lack a no-doubt shooting guard to take and with Wesley’s great work on color commentary for the Pelicans now, it seemed like he was the right choice to make as the starter for my team.
